SHSU CSC reunion

Our Catholic Student Center at our Alma Mater, Sam Houston State University, had its first official reunion this weekend. It was a busy weekend for many, so only a few of us could come out, but it was still a great time!

We packed the kids up for a day of memories and adventures! :)

This is a group of alum from the 1996-2002 era. We got the prize for being the "oldest." ;) Donna Rowe is in the middle, she was our director and a mother to us all!

A couple of little bearkats "eatin' em up!"

Donna did an AMAZING job documenting everything that happened at the CSC. We spent a lot of time visiting over photo albums this weekend, and I snapped some pics while I was at it!

Me with Sammy in the homecoming parade in 2001. Our CSC float was themed "The land of Oz," so the current president of the CSC got to be Dorothy. ;)

Here's my honey B helping lead a praise and worship session at our CSC chapel, somewhere in 2000, before we became friends.

Argh I'm still trying to figure out how to rotate these! But here our student center won a "Sammy" award and we went out to eat afterwards to celebrate.

Here I am singing in the choir, all the way to the left.

Bronius often played and sang in the choir. I think I first noticed him when he was playing the violin during Mass!

Here we are after we became engaged! At the same time, our good friends Greg and Crystal began dating.

It was exciting to be a Bearkatholic when Awakening was first brought over our Aggie buddies. I made the first awakening, and gave talks at #2 and #3. Bronius tells me it was my talk about the Holy Spirit ON BA#2 that made him notice me, even though I had met him several times before :)  I was the Coordinator for #3. Here I am giving the Love talk.  My theme song of course was U2's "In The Name of Love."

My parents came up to hear my talk! Dad gave the Discernment talk on BA #3 and I was so proud of him.

Bronius was on P Staff on BA #3 and was chosen to be Jesus in the final skit. What a special memory.

Another night going out to eat together. :)

I must be making an announcement for something here!

(Reallllly need to get those flipped around! Mental note.....)

Back to the present moment, Greg, Crystal and Mark, all grown up!

And me, Bronius and Donna on the other side! Kid table was behind us :)

We loved getting to tour the boys around campus and see all that had changed. So many memories came flooding back! Huntsville will always hold a very special place in our heart, and the CSC which brought Bronius and I together. :)

Food, friends and music!

Boys helping me make caprese pizza! I love listening to good music while making food and having good help while I do it! :)

Jonas had a play date with his new buddy Gabe!

And blew some dandelions after preschool.

Bronius and I had a "blind date" as a fundraiser for people with visual impairments. Check out dining in the dark!

We enjoyed a great free jazz concert through the community concerts on Carter Creek.  The boys enjoyed recognizing some of the classics being played in a jazz style!

And then THIS happened. We had friends for dinner and they shared homemade ice cream with us! We were all pretty excited!

And we celebrated Shay's birthday!

Dominic had a show choir performance on Earth Day!

I am enjoying hanging out with the REDC volunteers and helping out in the little ways I can. It has been so much fun!

Holy Week and Easter 2015

A beautiful day for an egg hunt at Jonas' preschool. They made their own confetti eggs filled with seeds which the school's chickens enjoyed! :)

A special treat with his buddy Niam.

Family footwashing on the evening of Holy Thursday. We have all come to look forward to this tradition to begin our Holy Week!

Our seder-style meal, thanks again to Shiraz Shish Kebab! This year we sat on the floor for more authenticity :)

The Walking Stations of the Cross on Good Friday. A moving and beautiful experience to share with friends and strangers alike. This was our third year to do the walk as a whole family, I hope we can keep it up!

Dyeing eggs on Saturday. We tried tie-dyeing this year!

I like the way they turned out. I thought the boys did a great job!

Saturday evening Bronius attending the Easter Vigil Mass with his friend Nathan whom he sponsored into the Church this year. We are so excited for Nathan!

And we enjoyed getting to celebrate Easter Sunday with his family who have become very special to us these past two years. We are so thankful for them!

Thank you Stephanie for taking our picture after Mass! :)

We invited our friend's son Corbin (who is one busy Corps cadet) to Easter Sunday also, and he brought one of his Corps buddies. We loved introducing them to cascarones! I hope we did it the right way! ;)

May the hope of our Risen Lord give us courage, compassion and purpose to live out our vocations more fully each day. Happy Easter joy to you and yours!
