Grammie and Papa visit, Franklin Safari field trip and Hot Shots
G & P came up and treated us to dinner and gelato while Daddy was at a conference!
We fed all kinds of creatures from the bus!
Jonas grew lovely carrots in his garden box at school!
Traditions Montessori had a field trip to the Safari Zoo. We had a WILD TIME!!!!

Jonas wanted to pose in front of this lemur because he reminded him of Zaboo from Zoboomafoo!
We love our Arthos!
Group picture of some other wild creatures :)
And home in one piece! What an adventure!
Jonas is loving Hot Shots this semester, I am so thankful. It has usually been some teeth-pulling to get people to play soccer in our house for some reason. I didn't expect it to be fun for that aforementioned reason, but it really has been!

Look What I Can Do - 2016 - Jonas
We enjoyed visiting Jonas up at school for his "Look What I Can Do" presentation! All the boys have done this at Montessori school, and I had to sniffle a little bit when I realized this might be the last of these we see! :(
Here he is checking his own spelling. After we called out a word, he searched for the letters and then checked his own work! I was sad we didn't get time to the math work he has been doing. Maybe I'll get a second chance to learn math by watching him! 😂
Jonas shows Milo his tying skills.
In true Montessori style, the older child helps the younger, reinforcing his own knowledge in the process!
Nesting dolls. A great study in proportions!

Field trips, Sponsor couple grads and Mother's Day Tea and chess tourney
I enjoyed accompanying Dominic's 4th grade class to the George Bush library. I hadn't really gone through the museum before, just seen special exhibits over the years. I was inspired by the Bush family's story and family history!
Jonas learned how to pump on the swing!
And I was treated by him to the annual Mother's Day tea at his school. I treasured this special date with him!

Dominic also was selected to participate in the school district's chess tournament. He won some, he lost some, most importantly he learned new things while having fun!
Our very first sponsor couple graduated from our sessions! We loved our time with this amazing, wonderful couple. Congratulations Matt and Elizabeth!

Out of Africa - end of year program at Aggieland Country School
We had a wonderful evening in "Africa" with beautiful jungle animals at Jonas' end of year show. Here he is with Jaydn, the grand daughter of the Motekaitis' neighbors since the 70's here in College Station! Jaydn's mother attended Bronius' mother's Montessori School, Mary of the Oaks as a child :)

This is always a special evening we look forward to as a family, with song, dance, treats and friends. We are thankful for this international school community!
