We spent our fourth of July at Veteran's Memorial park in the morning, since Bronius needed to do some updates for the kiosk which he programmed there. It's a really great project that he worked on, it's a computer which allows our community to find the names of their relatives who served our nation in the military. The kiosk is under the pavilion in the background (the pavilion itself was designed by a good friend of ours, so it was a neat collaborative project there!) Dominic and I enjoyed walking around on the grounds, admiring the statues, climbing stairs, learning about the American flag, and studying the marble walls inscribed with the names of our fallen heroes.

We then went to the GB Museum since it was featuring the White House in miniature (apparently this thing has travelled the world and at least 50 million people have seen it at this point!) It was something to MARVEL at. It was AMAZING! Dominic loved the train exhibit too. (And yes, I'm crazy obsessed with my red and white polka dot shirt...everyone has seen me wear it at least once a week ;) It was too perfect for today!)
Then we went to Senele's home for hot dogs, potato salad, baked beans, fresh fruit and ICE CREAM! We had a lovely indoor picnic since the weather was kinda blah today.
Later we're planning to have friends over to help us finish our bounty of food, and we'll probably pull out our sparklers from last year and light them on the porch with neighbors. We're so thankful for our blessed life! And we're thankful to our troops, and everyone who works together to make this a place where all are welcome to make their dreams come true.
